GOTVMAIL RECEIVES 2006 INTERNET TELEPHONY® EXCELLENCE AWARD
WESTON, MA, September 28, 2006 - GotVMail™ Communications (http://www.gotvmail.com), the award-winning Virtual Phone System for Today’s Small Business™, announced today that Technology Marketing Corporation’s (TMC®) INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine (www.itmag.com) has named GotVMail’s VirtualOne service as a recipient of a 2006 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award.
“GotVMail is honored to receive this award from INTERNET TELEPHONY for our work serving the telecommunications needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses,” said David Hauser, co-founder and chief technology officer of GotVMail. “GotVMail’s virtual phone service is distinctive for its ability to work with any phone — land line phones, cell phones, Voice over IP phones, BlackBerry 8000 Series handhelds, and other SmartPhones and PDAs — to deliver the most advanced small business telephony solution available which replicates the functionality of a Fortune 500 phone system for a fraction of the price.”
The 2006 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Awards were selected by the editorial staff of the magazine based on criteria that included customer case study examples that detailed how the product or service offered by a nominated company solved the customer’s telecommunications challenges and impacted their bottom line. Mi CASA del MAR, a Nevada-based real estate development company and GotVMail customer for over three years, uses GotVMail’s VirtualOne phone service to connect over 40 employees in Nevada, California, and Mexico.
“We were a little company trying to get started and looking for a way to provide toll-free service for customers dialing in, but we didn’t want to set up our own phone switch,” says Brian Crumrine, vice president and chief information officer of Mi CASA del MAR. “The GotVMail feature set is extensive and supported things that we needed. We use it with VoIP phones as well as cell phones and the system allows us to ring three or four different cell phones at the same time so somebody can always answer the phone. Being mobile most of the time and using a cell phone a lot, GotVMail gave us a way to provide good customer service and be responsive to our clients. Because GotVMail handles our incoming calls, we miss fewer customer calls.”
GotVMail even works for the handful of Mi CASA del MAR employees who don’t always carry cell phones. GotVMail takes messages for them - converting voicemails to MP3 files and faxes to PDFs that can be listened to and read via computer or PDA - so at any point in the day, or even when employees get back to their desks, they can go through their voicemails and faxes the same way they access their e-mail.
“GotVMail allows us to look bigger and work smarter than a lot of our competition,” Crumrine told INTERNET TELEPHONY. “It’s meant a cost savings and enhanced perception that directly contributed to our bottom line last year, including saving over $12,000 a year in what we would have spent on telephone equipment and individual phone line charges. The service is feature-rich, consistent, and reliable.”
“The editorial staff of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine is proud to announce the winners of the second annual INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Awards. These companies are as varied as the products that fit under the telephony umbrella, but they have all achieved delivering winning solutions for their customers’ needs,” indicated Rich Tehrani, Editor-in-Chief of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
“The winners of the second annual INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award are leaders in telecommunications technology. Taking risks to advance technology and provide real solutions has earned GotVMail Communications recognition from the editors of INTERNET TELEPHONY. GotVMail’s VirtualOne service has excelled in the telephony industry, and most importantly, its customers are willing to offer their testaments of support,” said Greg Galitzine, Editorial Director of INTERNET TELEPHONY.
Since the first issue in February of 1998, INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine has been providing unbiased views of the complicated converged communications space. INTERNET TELEPHONY offers rich content from solutions-focused editorial content to reviews on products and services from TMC Labs and Minacom. INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine has a circulation of 55,000.
The 2006 INTERNET TELEPHONY Excellence Award winners will be published in the October 2006 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine, www.itmag.com, or can be found directly online at http://www.tmcnet.com/awards/it-excellence-award-winners-2006.htm. For more information, please visit www.tmcnet.com.
