Can I use my existing local number with Grasshopper?Unlike toll free numbers, which may always be transferred, local number(s) you wish to transfer must be within our coverage area. Please check your existing local number(s) for coverage and make sure that your local number(s) are eligible for transfer before proceeding.. If your local number isn’t in our coverage area, you may order a new local number from Grasshopper. You can check for local numbers in your desired area using our local number search tool or you can have your local phone company forward your existing local number to your Grasshopper virtual number. Since there may be different types of call forwarding offered by your provider, please be sure to specify that they "forward and release" your calls.
Do I own the local number or does Grasshopper?Ownership of any assigned local phone number is vested solely in Grasshopper. However, you are the owner of any local telephone number transferred by you to Grasshopper ("Transferred Local Number"). Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for more detailed information.
