Great advice … and lovely illustrations. Tweeted! @gocatgo
From micro-managers to demanding and controlling megalomaniacs, I’ve seen it all. This advice is spot on. Cut them loose … the earlier the better. We all feel it … in the pit of our stomachs … when we’re making a mistake. We see it coming … but … we need the work … so we say to ourselves “this time, it’ll be different.” Never is, though. Never is.
Thanks for the comment and sharing your experience Rick!
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. Or both.
Haha! It’s sad but true. Hopefully you’ll never have to cross paths with one of these clients!
So true…I have known all these clients.
I’m going to print this out and hang it on the office wall next to
My New Hourly Rates
$65 per hour
$75 per hour if you watch
$85 per hour if you ask questions
$100 per hour if you help
$125 per hour if you say “it’s an easy job”
$135 per hour if you complain
$150 per hour if you did the job then called us to fix it
So very very very, true…number three is the worst to be honest…dealing with a client just like that at this very moment.
